Kayla Davenport has been an avid reader and writer her whole life. She'll consume almost any type of story, but her favorite to write are YA dystopians that delve into compelling characters and their struggles. Emmalyn Grant has spent her entire life within the walls of the Academy—a secret government facility that raises and trains genetically evolved children who possess special abilities. When she is offered a Mission by the Academy's leader, Emma gets to experience the outside world for the first time. She is given a target—a teenage boy the government deems a threat—and is asked to gather information on him to report back.
?Jesse Reynolds has spent most of his life hating the government and their special program he’s not supposed to know exists. To him, the Academy kids are nothing more than evil creatures who murdered his family nearly ten years ago. He has been planning his revenge ever since, until his plans are all but ruined when a strange girl shows up in town.
Emma and Jesse find themselves caught in a dangerous game of deception and manipulation.
